Since the area is having a large number of factories, the local authorities are paying special attention for uninterrupted supply of electricity. The proposed unit will need approx. 250 KVA load in total. In cases of emergency and power failure the unit has a heavy capacity Diesel Generator set to give it uninterrupted power supply throughout the day. The company has also installed AMF (Automatic Mains Failure) panel system so that time is not lost during power breakdowns. Labour in India stands as one of the lowest Costs globally. Further the labour costs in Calcutta are even cheaper when compared to the rest of India. This leads to lower cost of production and a competitive advantage over the others. High labour costs is one of the key factors which has resulted many Garment industries and stores to shift their operations to under developed countries where the labour costs are much cheaper. India has labour costs at US$ 0.60/Hr. in comparison with US$ 27.10/Hr. in Switzerland, US$ 27.30/Hr. in Japan and US$ 11.70/Hr in Indonesia.
